Call for Papers

Dear Designer

Throughout the ages, woman has been depicted as a concept idealized and objectified as an image of art and design. This, in fact, can be seen as a description of the place of women in society as a sociological position. From the past to the present, a role has always been assigned to the woman, her place and purpose of life have been shaped, her right to speak and what she says have always been relegated to the background. Great struggles have been waged for years in order to draw the image of a strong woman and to define the place of women in a qualified way. Laws and associations have been established and many steps have been taken to strengthen her place in society. But when we look at it today, the desired point in the fight against violence against women has still not been reached.Woman, not just a woman, not just a mother but also a woman, not just a wife but a woman as an individual... Just Woman! To emphasize the importance of being a Woman at work, at home, in the family and in every part of society without gender discrimination! Our starting point, which constitutes the concept and name of our exhibition, is to exist only as WOMEN in the past, present and future...As Giresun University Görele Faculty of Fine Arts Graphic Design Department, our aim is to raise awareness with the exhibitions we organize in order to remember and emphasize social problems and to be able to mediate the voice of society through design. For this purpose, on November 25, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, we are organizing an invited poster design exhibition to emphasize 'the importance of women's power, women's voice and the importance of combating violence against women'. Our goal is to emphasize through your designs that violence against women is increasing and that women are not alone on this day as they have always been. We hope that you will be a voice and a power for this just and tough struggle of women with your original designs that you will send to the exhibition. We expect you to contribute to our exhibition with your striking messages with your designs and we would like to say that we will be honored by your participation.
